In 1965, Lum Kern purchased the Fernbrook Inn, now lovingly known as Lum’s. Lum and Bernadine Kern raised their family upstairs, while operating the restaurant and bar. Lum’s reputation for serving amazing lobsters and steaks spread throughout the Valley and the bar became a local favorite to enjoy good company and play shuffleboard.

Today Lum’s is owned by Lum’s nephew Patrick Kern and his wife Coleen. We continue to serve Bernadine’s homemade soups and cole slaw, a variety of seafood and steaks and other options for families to enjoy in a charming setting. The bar remains a local favorite for people to meet up with friends, enjoy a fun drinks and if up for the challenge, play on a classic shuffleboard from days gone by.
